Affair Relationships - Are They Worth It

Source : Ex Back System permits to republish here

Affair relationships aren't uncommon today, and have never been uncommon. "The other woman" is a well known phrase, and "the other man" is more commonly used today, too. Affair relationships are exciting, but are they worth losing your marriage or your current relationship?

If you have affair relationships because you're miserably unhappy with your spouse or your girlfriend or boyfriend, they why not just end the relationship? Try to put yourself in the other person's shoes. How would you feel to be them and find out that you're unhappy and having affairs?

If you're unhappy with your partner, the least you can do is let them know if they don't already. That can give them the chance to try to change the relationship and make you happy. Without giving them that chance, it's terribly unfair to seek companionship elsewhere.

If you know that there's nothing your partner can do to make you happy, then you should consider ending the relationship instead of have affair relationships to meet your needs. Though sometimes this can be tricky and even seem impossible.

If you don't have a way to support yourself and you rely on your partner for that, you're going to be reluctant to leave the relationship. I can seem easier and safer to continue having affairs than to be on your own. In this case, if you're unhappy there's no reason not to let them know to see if things can't be improved.

You may find they're not aware of the problems. This is a common thing when one partner doesn't communicate openly and the other just assumes everything is all right. If you let them know, you might be surprised at the renewed effort the person puts into your relationship.

If you're still not happy with that person, then you should take steps to becoming independent so you don't have to rely on them. It's not fair to them to keep them hanging on only because you're afraid to make a change.

If you feel compelled to have affair relationships despite a happy relationship with your partner, you may want to seek counseling. You could have some sort of deep-seated emotional need to work on, or even a sex addiction.

Some marriages and partnerships survive affairs quite easily. And some partners have agreements to be together as partners, lovers and friends but allow affairs. They might share financial responsibility for their home and even children. But affairs are something that both people have and that's accepted.

If you're the type of person who feels the need to continue to be with new lovers no matter who you're with, this type of open relationship might be best for you. If you have an agreement with a partner, then it's less likely one of you can be hurt by the other's affairs.

Even when an affair is discovered and devastates the other person, the partnership could survive. With a strong commitment from you both, affair relationships don't have to signal the end of your marriage or relationship.
